First, mix the brownie base. Add all brownie base ingredients (PB or almond butter, 2 scoops chocolate protein powder, 2 tbsp cocoa powder, 1/4 cup maple syrup) to a large mixing bowl. Using a fork, mix well until combined. The mixture will be thick. Using a silicone spatula, press the brownie base down into a parchment-lined loaf pan until evenly spread. Set aside. Next, mix up the protein frosting. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together all frosting ingredients (1/3 cup yogurt, 3 tbsp cocoa powder, 2 scoops chocolate protein powder, 1 tsp espresso powder (optional), 2 tbsp almond milk, 1 tsp vanilla) until no clumps remain. Spread the frosting evenly over the brownie base until fully coated. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to set in the fridge for about an hour. Once set, lift the parchment from the loaf pan and slice into squares. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days for best results.
